Lenten Meditation - March 24, 2006
Silence is a Christian duty. When it is a question of ourselves, our trials, the graces we have received, we should remain silent, unless charity obliges us to speak. And even when it is a question of divine things, it is well to be very reserved, βto guard these things in our heart,β1 until the moment when this heart opens itself to someone who is in doubt or unhappiness.
- Elisabeth Leseur (1866-1914)- From The Secret Diary of Elisabeth Leseur: Daily Thoughts (1899 β 1906)-
1 Cf. Luke 2:51
